[lastfm link_type=””]Kenny G[/lastfm]’s  1997 album Miracles is the best selling Christmas album of all time.

Albums released in the past two decades obviously have an advantage on this list as [lastfm link_type=””]Celine Dion[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=””]Mariah Carey[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=””]Josh Groban[/lastfm], and [lastfm link_type=””]Harry Connick Jr.[/lastfm]’s efforts are also in the Top 10. [lastfm link_type=””]Mannheim Steamroller[/lastfm] has the most with no less than  3 CD’s making the best seller list. Classic albums like The Phil Spector Christmas, Merry Christmas by [lastfm link_type=””]Bing Crosby[/lastfm] and The Christmas Song by [lastfm link_type=””]Nat King Cole[/lastfm] have been staples for the past several decades. They never seem to get old, as they bring back  memories for many family members at this time of year.

In the singles catagory, “The Christmas Song” by Nat King Cole, written by [lastfm link_type=””]Mel Torme[/lastfm] on a hot August night in the 1940’s, and recorded by Nat 4 different times, remains the most played song of the season. Bing Crosby’s “White Christmas,” also written in the summer  by [lastfm link_type=””]Irving Berlin[/lastfm] (supposedly sitting by a swimming pool in Arizona) in 1940, remains the best selling Christmas single song of all time. It appeared in two films: “Holiday Inn” in 1942, and “White Christmas” in 1954.

Bing’s song was also the best selling song (Christmas and non-Christmas alike) from 1942-1996, until de-throned in 1997 by [lastfm link_type=””]Elton John[/lastfm]’s tribute to Princess Diana “Candle In The Wind.”
