Najee To Release Brand New Album The Smooth Side Of Soul Later This Month

Najee is set to release his 14th album entitled The Smooth Side of Soul later this month, featuring guest performances by Phil Perry, Jeff Lorber, and others.

“It is my hope that my audience will enjoy listening and experiencing this record as much as I enjoyed recording it.  I had a lot of fun recording this project and I hope the audience will have just as much fun listening,” Najee said about the new album.

The saxophonist began his career in Brooklyn, New York and has won many awards throughout his career including the Soul Train Music Award for Best Jazz Artist, NAACP Image Award and Trumpet Awards.

His extensive touring over the years has taken him not only through the United States, but also Europe, Asia, and Africa performing for big names such as Nelson Mandela and President Bill Clinton.

He’s also had the opportunity to work with big names such as Patti LaBelle, Al Jarreau, Dave Koz, Quincy Jones, George Duke, and many, many others.

The Smooth Side of Soul is available beginning January 31st.  Check out one of the songs from the new album below, which features Phil Perry,  entitled “Just To Fall In Love.”

Thank you for the info and link enjoyed the video very much. I am attending the Essence Music Festival 2012-I can not understand WHY we can not get artist such as Phil Perry, Najee, Will Downing, Rachelle Ferrell, George Duke???
