Babyface ‘Looking Forward’ To Performing First Show With Toni Braxton At The WAVE’s 25th Anniversary Concert

Many of you know the cool, soft-spoken R&B artist/producer Kenny Edmonds by his stage moniker Babyface, and over his more than three decade career, he’s written and produced some of the biggest hits in R&B, soul, and pop.

Babyface has been busier than ever in recent years with touring and working in the studio, and it’s a huge honor to have such an accomplished recording artist to grace the stage at The WAVE’s 25th Anniversary Concert on Feb. 19th! Babyface stopped by The WAVE’s studios this morning for a brief conversation with Pat & Kim about his life and career in music, plus shares his thoughts on taking the stage for the very first time with Toni Braxton.

It’s exciting to have Babyface perform live at The WAVE’s upcoming concert, because in the past this relatively reserved artist didn’t tour as often as he does today.
“I guess I was scared…I always felt funny,” explained Babyface on why he didn’t tour. But now over time, he says about touring, “It’s fun, I enjoy it. I’ve gotten comfortable in my old age.”
As an accomplished guitarist, keyboardist, lyricist and vocalist, Babyface has worked with some of the prestigious names in music including Whitney Houston, Madonna, Boyz II Men and our other star for the anniversary show, Toni Braxton. But for how much he’s worked with Toni on songs like “Give U My Heart,” “Let It Flow” and the colossal hit “Breathe Again,” the two artists have never done a show together.
“I’m looking forward to it. I don’t think I’ve done a show with Toni. I think this is the first time we’re doing a show together,” said Babyface. “We’ve been in the same building before, but not on the actual same show. She kills it.”
