Dionne Warwick, cousin of the late Whitney Houston, has come to her own conclusion as to what killed the singer on February 11th at the Beverly Hilton.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Warwick said “You know, in all honesty, I think she had a heart attack, that’s what I think happened to her.”  But when it came to the question of whether drugs played a role in Houston’s death, she said “I don’t know if it’s that or not. I think her heart just gave out.”

The day before the GRAMMY awards, Houston was found reportedly face down and unconscious in the bathtub of her hotel room at the Beverly Hilton, just hours before she was scheduled to attend record executive Clive Davis’ pre-GRAMMY party.

In the family’s first interview since the death of Houston with Oprah this past weekend, her sister-in-law Pat told Oprah that her brother and security guard, Ray, was trying to revive her to the point of exhaustion when Patricia told him to “let it go.”

Warwick also spoke about her experience of accompanying Whitney Houston’s body back home to New Jersey onboard Tyler Perry’s private jet. “It was a combination of things, stories, laughter, tears. All the emotions that you feel when somebody very near to you passes.”

The official toxicology report on the death of Whitney Houston has not yet been released.

I think it was “unfortunate” that Whitney did not make herself available to people like Natalie Cole who may have been able to relate to her stardom, divorce, and drug use. Thank God we still have living examples of restoration. Come unto me all that are weak and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.
