This Saturday at 1:30pm Emmy award winning actor Glynn Turman hosts the 2nd Annual American Soul Charity Rodeo in the City of Industry. It’s a fun family day of entertainment, food and education at the rodeo. I was there last year and I can tell you the whole family will have a ball. There are all kinds of events to compete in, celebrity riders like Jim Pickens Jr. of Gray’s Anatomy, singer-actress Dawn Lewis and more.

The event is held during Black History Month in order to highlight the little known history of African Americans in the development of the west. The proceeds of the event benefit Camp Gid D Up and other charities. Glynn Turman and his wife JoAn founded Campo Gid D Up to support their summer camp for inner city kids. They take the children to their California ranch and teach them to care for horses and to learn ranching and roping and other skills.

Check out my conversation with Glynn Turman as he gives of highlights of this years charity rodeo and also talks about the new season of the Showtime hit series House of Lies, in which he co-stars with Don Cheadle.
