A few weeks back we told you about a warrant out for the arrest of Anita Baker for failing to appear in court for a hearing in a civil lawsuit.
The suit was filed by Ray A. Smith Painting & Decorating claiming Baker oweed over $15,000 for work done on her Grosse Pointe, Michigan home in 2009. Their attorney, Daniel Gerow, was granted the warrant after Baker failed to pay for work on her sprawling home on Lake St. Clair in Grosse Pointe.
Shortly thereafter, Baker responded on Twitter about the warrant. Her lawyer at the time said the singer had no clue about the lawsuit, which is why she failed to appear in court.
Now Baker is fighting back with a countersuit against Ray A. Smith Painting & Decorating because according her to her lawyer they “intended to put her in as embarrassing a light as possible.”
