The Saban Theater of Beverly Hills has a great mix of music acts coming soon including Al Di Meola on Saturday April 25th, En Vogue on May 23rd, Keb Mo on July 15th, and a 10-day run for the stage production of Rent from July 16-26th.

S.T.A.G.E. returns to the Saban on Saturday May 9th, for it’s 31st anniversary.  S.T.A.G.E. is the longest running musical theater AIDS event. S.T.A.G.E. is a perfect mix of singing and dancing Broadway style, but with Hollywood flavor.  Dave Koz has donated what promoter Scott Barton calls a “terrific package” for the silent auction.  This Friday night, the Saban will rock with singer Pat Benatar.

Pat Benatar exploded onto the American music scene with her very first song to hit the radio back in 1979, “Heartbreaker.”  Pat has never been away from her audience since, always hitting us with her “Best Shot.”  Pat appears at the Saban Theater this Friday night, with longtime guitarist and husband Neil Giraldo. Neil has played on all 12 of her studio albums, eight of which have gone platinum, and 3 more certified gold.

Pat’s music has been woven into a strong fabric of American pop culture, with “Treat Me Right” being featured in An Officer and a Gentleman,”Treat me Right” appeared in Talladega Nights, “We Belong” was in the cult favorite Blue Valentine, plus national commercials for Sheraton Hotels in a $20 million dollar ad campaign.

My personal favorite “Love Is A Battlefield”, made the tv scene in “South Park” for two different episodes. The 1927 (formerly) silent film classic, “Metropolis” was restored a few years back, with two versions of Pat’s “Here’s My Heart” a part of the new score.

Benatar toured with Cher last year, and will be appearing with Michael Mc Donald this summer. The art deco Saban is the perfect place for Pat, as she celebrates her “35th Anniversary Tour” this Friday night.
