Dynamic, efficient, compassionate. A true leader.

These words – and more – have been used to describe St. Anne’s Chief Financial Officer, Kyla Lee, as she continues her outstanding business career in the vibrant nonprofit sector of Los Angeles. With skills sharpened over 20 years of financial experience and leadership roles in some of LA’s most notable nonprofits such as The J. Paul Getty Museum, the Japanese American National History Museum and the Los Angeles Urban League, Kyla Lee has established herself as one of the youngest and brightest executives in Los Angeles.

The mother of three children, Lee points to her humble beginnings in Albuquerque, New Mexico as key to her persistent drive to bring herself, her staff, and any organization she’s been a part of, ever closer to full potential. Born the daughter of a Dutch immigrant father and African-American mother, Lee’s experience as a biracial child in the majority Latino/white neighborhood of 1970’s Albuquerque was surely unique and by no means the smoothest of beginnings, especially as both parents held multiple jobs to make ends meet. She credits the influence of her parents’ great work ethic and discipline, as well as the experience of being highly marginalized in her environment, as the two major factors that propelled her to her present success. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, but the driving force behind her career is her ability to capitalize on the strengths and opportunities within the organizations she has helped to lead.

With a budget of over $23 million, national accreditation and consecutive 4-star ratings on Charity Navigator, St. Anne’s requires a meticulous, driven and committed executive to balance the social service organization’s multi-faceted budget, its commitment to transparency, and the highest quality programs and services. Fortunately, Kyla Lee is on the job.

The organization’s mission to help pregnant and parenting foster youth, low-income families and children resonates deeply with Kyla Lee, as her story has more in common with their stories than one might imagine, considering the heights she has achieved. St. Anne’s offers residential care and transitional housing, family education and mental health services, early childhood education and workforce development. These comprehensive services nurture the safety, success and hope of parents and children, building strong families from the inside out.

“St. Anne’s is life-changing for young women and families in our community. Although I don’t work directly in programs, I feel that I am able to tell the important story of our work through numbers and analysis.”
